Be My Guest Bartender

Last night, Larry and I had the pleasure of guest bartending at the illustrious Ruby’s Tap House. Thanks again to the owner Stan who hooked us up, and to all my friends that showed up and made it worthwhile. Now for my observations:

Pete tending barI’d like to say that all taps are not created equal. What I mean is, Bud Light pours differently than PBR. Apparently. Bud Light pours like it tastes, flat and boring. No surprises there. PBR however, has to be cajoled like a skittish skunk. Otherwise it bolts and sprays all over the place, making guite a mess. Here’s me giving someone some head.

Later on, Larry took over. He learned his PBR lesson. He also thought he had moved to Williamsburg, as you can see by his hipster specs. While he toiled, I took these pictures and played some pool. Man digital cameras are fun. Bracketing exposures is where it’s at, in colorfully lit bars.

The best part is, this could become a semi-regular gig. It’s a mutually beneficial situation for all parties involved. We bring by people on an off night, and the bar makes money it wouldn’t have otherwise. We get to drink for free and have fun on a night we’d normally spend dreading the following workday. If I ever fall upon really hard times, this might have to be my new career. I could think of worse things than dispensing refreshments to be enjoyed in a responsible manner.

Have you ever cajoled a skittish skunk before?

Once, when I was little. I don’t want to talk about it.
