Secession the City

2004 Election Results
Free and slave states in 1850

One of these things is not like the other. Wait a minute! No! They’re exactly the same!

Well it looks like we’ll get 4 more years of Bush for a total of 12 out of 20 years. Fantastic. But he won fair and square, by getting the most votes from states that used to support slavery. I find it very interesting that almost nothing has changed since this country was founded. We’re still split down the Mason Dixon Line as much as Colonel Sanders and Yankee Doodle ever were. The coasts too, are separated by their bizarro, landlocked counterparts.

Hindsight is 20/20 which is why secession is looking better and better. Wyoming, with a statewide population of roughly 500,000 has 2 whole senators in Congress. New York City, with a population of around 8 million has none. I’m not sure about the logistics of a civil war these days, like getting weapons and where teh fighting might actually take place, but as long as we’re fighting worthless wars we might as well see some results out of one.

Awesome post. I’ve been talking about NYC seceding for a while myself: http://www.thisiswhatwedonow.com/2004/08/secession-of-new-york-city.html

Wow! What an amazing comparison. What does it mean that all the states that all the states that went to Bush were slave states except Indiana and Ohio? And why did Indiana and Ohio bail out on us? Traitors.
