I love the Wikipedia. Extensive, free, it has the word ‘wiki’ in it. What’s not to love? Combining my love of the Wikipedia and making things easier, I wrote a bookmarklet that let’s you look up any word on a web page you have highlighted.
Instructions
- Add the Wikipedia Lookup bookmarklet to your favorites.
- Highlight a word you want to learn more about, such as pareidolia.
- Open the bookmarklet by clicking on it from your list of bookmarks.
- Send a check or COD to yours truly.
It’s just that simple.
Other cool bookmarklets include:
- w3.org HTML Validator
- Flickr
‘};if(t!='’){document.write(’Click%20an%20image%20to%20add%20it%20to%20your%20photostream
‘+t+'’);void(document.close())}else{alert(’No%20images!’)}”>add to Photostream
Update: It turns out Wikipedia beat me to the punch, like someone cutting in line at a wedding reception. They have a bookmarklet that does the same thing, except that theirs asks you for a word if you don’t have anything selected.
