I have a predilection for clothing with my name on it. Be it a t-shirt with Peat on the front, or the recycling symbol PETE, I will wear just about anything that closely resembles my name. If I wore hats, I would have already bought the Pistol Pete basball cap. Which is why Adidas’ new Pistol Pete Maravich collection is so apropos.
I had a zany high school history teacher who called me Pistol Pete, and would follow that with a “bang bang” and a shoot-from-the-hip pantomime, which makes this track suit all the more well, er, suited. And the giant “Pistol” on the back resonates with me as a rare example of correct quotation mark usage.
Look for me, guns a-blazin’, on the streets of Brooklyn and Manhattan, or biking over the Manhattan Bridge.
