I’ve been coming across a lot of examples of high speed photography lately. I recently got the new Kings of Leon album, whose cover shows a light bulb getting shot.
It reminded my friend of a video where a light bulb gets shot, and you can clearly see the red hot filament stretching before it snaps.
A few days later I was flipping through an issue of Harper’s and saw a great shot of porcelain Kung Fu fighters in mid break by photographer Martin Klimas.
He’s got a ton of other cool high speed photographs, my favorite being this one of many, many marbles dropping to the ground.
And then this post on Gizmodo showcasing the same thing, only with wine glasses filled with colored liquids.
And my favorite high speed photo of all time has to be this hydrogen bomb detonation captured in a hundred-millionth of a second. More here.
