STONY BROOK, NY - Laptops are contributing to worldwide scrotal warming, a study released by SUNY Stony Brook says. Scrotal warming has dire consequences for male fertility, and therefore the world as a whole. It has been well documented that even a slight rise in baseline scrotal temperature can have a dramatic effect.
“[Laptops] are frequently positioned close to the scrotum, and as well as being capable of producing direct local heat, they require the user to sit with his thighs close together to balance the machine, which traps the scrotum between the thighs,” said Lead Researcher Dr. Yefim Sheynkin.
The increase in scrotal temperature was higher on the left side than the right. This is probably due to the offset position of the respective scrotal contents. Further research still needs to be done to arrive at conclusive results. Questions still remaining include whether radiation from wireless network cards mutates sperm, and whether or not viewing pornography can offset these ill effects.
