Google Calendar just came out. I like it. It’s beta and not perfect, but I like it.
Pros:
- Sends me SMS reminders on my cell phone.
- Click and drag events to differnt days
- “Layer” your events. That is, overlay a holiday calendar on top of your work calendar on top of your personal calendar.
- Inivte friends to events, even if they don’t use Google Calendar, although they must use some form of calendar program.
- Auto completes contacts from gmail into invitations.
Cons:
- Invitations don’t quite work yet. I sent one to my work email as a test. It showed up in Outlook as an appointment, not just an email which was cool. But Outlook couldn’t send the reply, which could be either Outlook’s of GOogle’s fault.
- The time zone for the test event was off by 2 hours.
