You snooze, you lose. I hesitated in buying this sweet, sweet “You Sank My Battleship” t-shirt pictured to the left, and now they are out of my size. This shirt is quite popular, understandably so, and was even worn by Zach Braff, yes the Zach Braff, on the series finale of Scrubs.
Threadless is basically a more elite version of flickr, but for t-shirts. I’m really digging their community vision though. Send in a picture of yourself wearing the same shirt and you get 1 credit. Refer them a sale of a shirt, and you get 2 credits. 10 credits and you get a free shirt!
And this isn’t your Cafe Press fare, either. And that’s what I mean by a more elite version of flickr. You need to be a graphic designer or illustrator to compete with the designs on this site. Not just some schlub who wants his overexposed, scanned image of him and his girlfriend on a t-shirt. You’d be surprised what these guys do with just a 4 color palette.
Nevertheless, I’ve become inspired. I’d like to turn “Don’t snatch my money!” into a t-shirt. I’m thinking the silhouette of a wheelchair-bound woman admonishing a young child, and making the money in her hand stand out in green. The lettering would be gothic of course, like The New York Times masthead, and Snoop Dogg’s font of choice.
Look for it!

I’ll take ten
Thank god for those 3 in the morning epiphanies
